About Us
Friends of Poly-Western (FOPW) is a recognized Non-Profit 501(C) 3 organization that was established in 2004 to serve the young ladies and gentlemen of two of the highest excelling public schools in Maryland. Poly and Western High School have produced high achieving and highly productive students for over 100 years. The goal of FOPW is to be supportive of the needs of students at both schools, through fundraising, scholarships and community involvement.
Scholarships
The Friends of Poly-Western established the annual Gerald Perrin Memorial Scholarship to recognize a graduating senior from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and a graduating senior from Western High School. In addition, we award an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and a graduating senior from Western High School in memory of Ms. Robin Kane-Prater.

Thank you for your awesome support to our organization, and especially to your support of the outstanding students at Poly and Western high schools. Because of your support and contributions, in 2013 we awarded $3,000 in scholarships to four students. Since we hosted our first golf tournament fundraiser in 2009, we have awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to very deserving students Poly and Western. We have donated $6,000 to replace the original video screen in the Poly-Western Auditorium. We donated money for schools supplies at each school. We donated money to support Poly's International Award Winning Vex Robotics Team. In addition we have provided STEM mentoring programs, participated in career days and acted as judges at the Vex International Robotics Regional Qualifier hosted at Poly. We look forward to your continued support, as we will continue our scholarship and donation efforts.
